Overview
I had the opportunity during my time at Codal to work for a client in the real estate listing business that focuses on selling and renting manufactured homes in eleven states. We were tasked with redesigning their existing home listing platform with a focus on improving their core search functionality when searching for a home within a specific community. Unfortunately, due to privacy reasons, I can’t show the bulk of my work, but here are some brief notes about during my time on the project.—
The Process
  • Set up requirement sessions with the client and created a feature list of high priority items they wanted to have for MVP.
  • Created the initial wireframes and UI comps and organized review meetings where the goal was to get final sign-off on the designs.
  • Worked with our engineering team and conducted design QA sessions reviewing the developed pages and ensuring they met best UX practices. Below is a sample set of screens that I'm able to give a quick preview of!
Internal Jobs
  • Improved search functionality on the home page by introducing a full width search bar in the header which would allow potential buyers to search by city, state, zip code, or community name.
  • I also incorporated an advanced search where they could further filter by status, min beds, min baths, or price.
  • With the Community and Home detail pages, I focused on better ways to lay out and organize the content to where it wouldn't be overwhelming to potential users but also be informative enough. This was done by using clear call to actions, use of imagery, and large section titles.
